WHAT IS MEANT BY DUAL DIAGNOSIS?

Dual Diagnosis refers to the co-occurence of mental health disorders and substance abuse disorders (alcohol and/or drug dependence or abuse).

Class Note: Dual Diagnosis is a diagnois given to an individual who has both a substance abuse/dependence disorder and a mental heath diagnosis - either Axis 1 or Axis ll.
